Keelboat Training & Certification
Basic Sail Training in Rhodes 19
From May through September, 15 students learn to
sail each week - that is about 250 new skippers per
season! The course is divided into two phases. Three
nights of ground school (classroom) are
complimented by a morning and 3 evenings on the
water. Click on the links above for more information.
Advanced Sail Training in Shields
From May though September , students learn
advanced boat handling techniques in a large (30 ft;
2 ton) keelboat. Courses are held bi-weekly. A
Shields is a racing-machine - not for the faint of
heart, but a thrill to sail both for recreation and
competitively. Click on the link above for more
information.
Racing Seminars
Racing seminars are held bi-monthly. Students learn
racing trim and performance boat handling as well as
the strategy and tactics needed to compete. A
take-home IQ test covers the knowledge skills. The
key is not to get the right answers but to identify
areas of further personal study and practice.
Spinnaker handling and qualification is covered in the
last session. Click on the link above for more
information.
